Two months after the explosion that affected the German Sanatorium, the administration of the clinic received US $ 8 million corresponding to the first disbursement of committed insurance. FR Group Corredores de Seguros, advisor to the hospital center on the matter, arranged with the insurance companies the prompt delivery of the resources, in order to advance in the reconstruction of the clinic in Concepción. “The insurance program that the Sanatorium has is comprehensive, with coverage specifically designed for its operation, including material losses and loss of earnings, in addition to different coverage for its civil liability exposures ”explained Jaime Risopatrón, commercial manager of FR Group.
For their part, HDI and Mapfre, estimate the losses at US $ 25 million according to their preliminary calculations, and this first installment of US $ 8 million, is part of a process that should last a few more months.
In this sense, Risopatrón assures that “the contracted insurances must leave our insured in identical conditions and with the same operation as it had before the accident”.
Meanwhile, the main shareholder of the German Sanatorium, Javier Álvarez, highlighted the speed with which the liquidation process has been carried out, which has allowed to accelerate the return to a normal state of operations.
“Having 75% of the operating clinic is currently the result of joint and collaborative work that will allow us to provide our clinical services in full on July 15th. The swift action of insurance has made it easier for us to achieve this goal, ”said Álvarez.
